1. Use business name or keywords in the domain

While keywords are important, don’t go overboard with domain length. Try to describe the domain with keywords of your business name and or services you offer.

You don’t want to accidentally use someone else’s trademark name or get accused of copyrighting.

By not following simple rules could result in huge legal issues that could cost you taken to court. Do your research to see if the names you want aren’t already in use by Business Names or by Trade Mark protected.

This definitely helps improve your ranks on search engines which increases traffic.

6. Avoid the use of numbers and hyphens

Beware of creating a domain names with hyphens or numbers.

Some people like to think this is good as they see it as a separation between words for search engines, but search engines are smart enough to know the difference.

Example: People don’t know if you’re using a numeral (5) or spelled out as (five) or they forget to insert the dash ( – ).
